WELCOME TO MY WORLD....
LAURA
"Growing up, my childhood was a tapestry of vast Southern skies and global treasures, where I became completely enamored with enchanted worlds and intricate wonders."
About
Our family cattle ranch in Texas was named Arella, a combination of my sisters' names and my own: Ardy, Elise, and Laura.
Life there was a beautiful contradiction.
Outside the front door lay the rugged American West. But inside, our rooms were filled with international treasures my parents had collected while living in Africa, Dubai, and Iran before I was born.
I spent hours tracing the patterns on those global objects, listening to them like secret stories from faraway lands. Between those vast horizons and a house full of wonders, I learned to see the magic hidden in raw materials.
That early devotion to storytelling eventually led me to Stephens College. To learn how to shape physical form with my own hands, I designed my own bachelor's degree by blending fashion marketing, visual merchandising, interior design, event planning, and sculpture.
JOURNEY
I moved to Florence, Italy, to study fashion photography. Under the guidance of master photographers, the camera taught me to look at design differently, focusing entirely on mood, shadow, and texture.
But on my daily walks home, my focus shifted. Walking along the cobblestone streets, I passed beautiful leather shops and found myself constantly drawn inside. It was there, away from the camera lens, that I discovered the deep, enduring allure of the leather industry.
Afterward, I sought out the high peaks and profound silence of Big Sky, Montana. In that quiet, high-altitude stillness, a realization shifted within me.
I didn't want to just capture beautiful things through a lens anymore. I wanted to physically make them.
I left the mountains and moved to Georgia to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design, entering a world of rigorous discipline under master artisans.
My work focused on jewelry, fibers, and accessory design. I learned to balance the tactile nature of leather with the meticulous, patient precision of embedding diamonds and rare gemstones into my beadwork.
Laura
In the stillness of my studio, I lean into the slow poetry of making, using quality tools and precious materials that demand a sense of wonder.
PHILOSOPHY
A love letter to the extraordinary. Objets d’art made by hand.
Arella is a space where the quiet expanse of the horizon meets the soft romance of old-world artistry. We do not design for passing seasons or fleeting trends. Instead, we weave a sense of wonder into everything we touch, creating modern talismans built to carry your own stories and accompany you on your journeys.
In the studio, materials transform. Intricate fibers are stitched, supple hides are shaped, and rare gemstones are placed beside diamonds like starlight caught in fine beadwork. Each heirloom piece is crafted by hand, turning raw elements into wearable poetry.
"House of Arella exists in direct opposition to mass production. Every handbag is created entirely within our own atelier, made with heart and made with soul. Because I rarely design the same piece twice, most creations are completely one of a kind. Each artifact carries its own energy, speaking directly through the unyielding precision of the craftsmanship."
